but what can the Roungetable do for the Internet? Inspired by Grimace's introduction of lolcats to the Roungetable universe, I propose we start some kind of internet phenomenon - a word (poof), an abbreviation (lolz) or a random instance that becomes wildly popular (lolcats). Given the relative size of the roungetable vs the internet, we'd have to work hard to promote it, but I think it can be done with our dedication and the continued support of Sean Avery. Please leave suggestions in the comments below and we will take a vote by end of day Friday.

What about turning the "Panda Hunt" out. We leave a series of escalating clues leading to "who" the Panda is, pick some random person and have the public deduce who it is...that person becomes the Panda until the next Panda hunt is revealed. Basically, they have the popularity of the American Idol (until next season) and scores of people participate in this internet phenomenon and we develop a ponzi scheme of Popularity (Pandalarity?)

ReplyDeleteI was thinking something more on the lines of a new expression (TWSS could be a guideline here). We could start using this expression a ton and eventually google would pick it up (hi google!). Then we'd have an expert in internet subterfuge (Lurch) post an article on wikipedia, linking the roungetable to the made up expression and post it on whatever weird forums he goes on with great frequency. Squid can reach out to the azn crowd on his xanga, Grimace could start using it in legal briefs and men's briefs, and we can cover finance from a few angles.
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to making "rage cage" part of daily speech, though there are a few entries on urban dictionary already. I don't really know how we could use it though.
"SMIF", which I believe was a Queso creation (shoot me in face) is also a good one, probably easier to apply
SMIF is very good, and with all the kids saying FML and KM these days, now is the perfect time to release it. we need to spread the word on SMIF immediately. lurch start telling the internet about it.
ReplyDeleteInexplicably Lurch has yet to sign up, despite the fact he has probably been logged on the internet for at least 72 hour straight without getting up. Butter's is pretty good at the interweb too, knows where all the cool guys chat n sht
